First and foremost, Tucker Oyster Co. is a family business.

Our story

Like so many good ideas, it started with a book. In the winter of 2021, when the world was still locked down, a good friend shared Eat Like a Fish with Samuel Tucker. Soon, he was consumed with the idea of sustainable aquaculture, and settled on oysters as his bivalve of choice.

A music teacher by day, Samuel spent years perfecting his plans and learning as much as possible from the local oyster farming community, who so generously shared their insights and experience. In 2024, TOC obtained its permits to farm in the waters of Clinton and Madison, Connecticut.

With the indispensable help of his older brother, Jeremy, and his trusty First Mate, Samuel hopes to have the first TOC oyster harvest in the autumn of 2025.

Tucker Oyster Co. is dedicated to the memory of Ronald Bradley Tucker (Dec. 10, 1944-Jan. 29, 2021), who shared his love of the ocean with his entire family.
